TICO recently had the privilege of meeting with the Office of the Chief Skills Officer at the Ministry of Public Service and Labour (MIFOTRA). The engagement provided a valuable opportunity to reflect on ongoing progress within the Youth Entrepreneurial Design Fellowship (EDF) project and to explore additional pathways for strategic collaboration.
During the meeting, both teams exchanged insights on strengthening skills development, expanding innovation programs, and creating more meaningful opportunities for young people across Rwanda. The Ministry expressed strong interest in the EDF initiative, emphasizing the importance of partnerships that contribute to national workforce readiness and youth empowerment.
TICO’s Executive Director highlighted that the engagement marked “a meaningful step toward building stronger, more effective systems that equip young people with the competencies they need to thrive.” He said

The Office of the Chief Skills Officer commended TICO for its impactful work in empowering youth and contributing to national development. The Office expressed appreciation for TICO’s continued commitment and reaffirmed the Ministry of Public Service and Labour’s support in collaborating with TICO to achieve shared objectives in line with the National Strategy for Transformation (NST2).
TICO extended its appreciation to the Ministry for the openness, support, and constructive feedback received during the meeting. Both institutions look forward to strengthening their collaboration, working together to drive sustainable, youth-centered impact and build a future where every young person has access to the skills and opportunities they need to succeed.
